Ada Lea shares new single, "midnight magic"
Ada Lea — the moniker of Montreal-based musician Alexandra Levy — has released "midnight magic" as the latest single from her forthcoming new album, when i paint my masterpiece.
The track is inspired by surrealist artists such as Leonora Carrington, James Ensor, Charlotte Salomon, and Maruja Mallo. Alongside the single Ada Lea painted an uncanny scene which her visual collaborator Clarice Hana then brought to life. The accompanying video features a giant creature woman that births a candlestick holder, a cloud-sized egg, a piano, an enormous tube of paint and finally, she gives birth to Ada Lea. The OBGYN has four eyes and uses three-foot scissors to cut the cord.
Ada Lea will embark on a UK tour ahead of an extensive string of dates in North America in September. The tour will see her stopping in London for a showcase for The Line Of Best Fit, as well a showcase at Rough Trade in Bristol, and more.
