Acclaimed Montreal indie rock artist Ada Lea has dropped a new music video for "copycat", a single from her forthcoming fourth album the end is a wave, coming 12 August via Saddle Creek and Next Door Records.
The Montreal-born singer-songwriter, real name Alexandra Levy, is following up last year's When I Paint My Masterpiece album almost a year to the date. Co-produced with Daniel Gélinas (known for his work with Thanya Iyer), Levy's new record is titled the end is a wave and arrives with a video for "copycat" and limited other details.
Levy and Gélinas are the only two credited musicians, a split from When I Paint My Masterpiece's full-band setup of guitarist Chris Hauer, bassist Summer Kodama, and drummer Tasy Hudson. Levy has also shuffled producers, having worked with Luke Temple (aka Art Feynman) on her previous record and Marshall Vore on the one before that, 2021's One Hand on the Steering Wheel the Other Sewing a Garden, which was longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize.
