A previously unheard version of Mark Lanegan's "Heard A Train" is available now
Mark Lanegan Estate have released the song “Heard A Train” – a previously unreleased full-band outtake from the Bubblegum sessions.
On 23rd August Beggars Arkive in conjunction with the Estate Of Mark Lanegan will release Bubblegum XX - a set of releases that include a remastered double LP edition of the original album and a 4XLP/3XCD/Digital release containing 40 remastered tracks, 12 of which are previously unreleased.
About the sessions, Troy Van Leeuwen said: “When I heard the news of Mark’s passing, these memories started rushing back to me. I searched through my archive of drives and somehow magically was able to open up these sessions.”
When Troy spoke to Uncut about the sessions recently, he added “He was always listening, always reading, always inputting – and outputting – so it’s another testament to his greatness, because the simplicity of it just holds all the weight. You don’t need much. Even listening back to [the sessions] I just couldn’t even believe it. I felt so lucky to be there.”
Bubblegum XX will be released on 23 August, and is available to pre-order now.
