
1.6 million people attend Madonna's free concert in Rio De Janeiro
On Saturday evening (4 May), Madonna performed at Rio De Janeiro's Copacabana beach, attracting a crowd estimated to be of 1.6 million people.
One of the biggest shows of her four-decade career, Madonna's show in Rio marked the final stop on her Celebration tour which kicked off in London last year, before making stops in America, Canada and Mexico. This was her first performance in Brazil since 2012.
Madonna was also joined by special guests Anitta and Pabllo Vittar, who later posted tributes to the artist on their socials. "Yesterday was a historical night for my city Rio de Janeiro. @madonna finished her tour at the Copacabana beach for more than 1 million people. Such a special time for all of us. I feel really honored you invited me to be part of this moment. You represent the freedom of a whole community that yesterday celebrated together your victory," Anitta wrote.
Cardi B, FKA twigs, Julia Fox, and more have also joined Madonna onstage during the Celebration tour.
