Listen: Wyldest - "Cruel Dusk"
Ahead of their (free) headlining slot at Camden's infamous Lock Tavern this evening, Wyldest's Zoe Mead, Holly Mullineaux and Jack Gooderham share the stunning "Cruel Dusk".
2015 is shaping up to be a formative year for Wyldest. Since arriving in the summer of 2014 with a string of well lauded demos, they have garnered attention from all the right places due to their effortless, glistening brand of new wave infused dream-pop. In a genre that is beginning to burst at the seams with new acts cropping up at the click of a finger, the trio's unique, expertly crafted synth sounds flutter with a breeze of excitement and intelligence.
Mead's smoky yet sun-tinged vocals are coated effortlessly by shimmering synths that create an intoxicating, heady whirl throughout. "Cruel Dusk" marks a distinct turning point for the trio that is bound to make heads turn.
If Wyldest's previous demos were their proverbial teenage diary, "Cruel Dusk" is their coming of age movie. It glistens with the suggestion of big, big things for the trio in 2015 that are not to be missed.
"Cruel Dusk" is out now on Hand In Hive.
