Weslee hit a sweet spot with ripe new single “Peaches”
Weslee, the duo comprised of Kansas-bred Josh and London local Emma, have unveiled their fourth release of 2019, “Peaches”.
Complete with shimmering instrumentation and lyrics that contemplate a deteriorating relationship, Weslee's “Peaches” is a slow-burning jam that sees the twosome at the top of their game ahead of their sophomore EP due to be released in early 2020.
“The mood still lingers from the night before / The way we argue I can’t take no more” sings Emma in an embittered reflection. Smoothly-layered vocals meet slacker guitar lines as Weslee ooze raw emotions whilst simultaneously focussing on a time where the stars felt more aligned.
Weslee shared that “'Peaches' is about reminiscing on better times, when things were sweeter”. Melancholy feelings overarch the track while a sense of minimalism resides underneath.
