Völuspa unveils bewitching lullaby "Live One Life"
Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Völuspa contemplates the fragility of life on mystic new lullaby "Live One Life".
"Live One Life" is Völuspa's first new offering of the year, after 2018's "Miss You Too".
Kirsten Knick, aka Völuspa, commences the new single with a cascading piano melody, before launching her angelic vocals into the stratosphere to contemplate how precious life is.
As the first verse kicks in, the beat adopts a rain-like persona, pattering at a pleasant pace to allow Knick's dreamlike vocals to paint a lucid image of a mystical world.
Völuspa contemplates "Do we ever die?" before the drums transform the track into a dreamy ballad beat that would sound at home on a Tame Impala track; the light psychedelia of the synths whisking the listener to a beguiling dream world.
Speaking about the new offering, Völuspa explains, "Völuspa speaks to your subconscious realm. The dreams, the nightmares, the old lovers, the future self, the past self and to the holiness inside of you. It haunts you and comforts you at the same time."
