The electronic duo from across the river make a spectacular entrance with self-assured track “Zender”.
One of the strongest debuts of the year, “Zender” is a warm and impactful slice of neo-soul that mixes meticulous electronic manipulations with hook-laden songwriting. This choppy homage to classic R&B-led gospel is full to the brim with sostenuto piano and anthemic synths, whilst the sparse vocals lend a rare human quality to what would otherwise be faceless electronica.
“Zender” is taken from the pair’s first EP Self Edit out later this year.
