Vera Hotsauce channels the early noughties on the mighty “Hey Boy”
After releasing her self-written mixtape let me show u what love is late last year, Swedish up-and-coming songwriter and producer Vera Hotsauce shares her latest venture with early 00s pop number “Hey Boy”.
Brimming with attitude and punchy, vibrant beats, “Hey Boy” is an explosive creation. Asserting her confidence and demonstrating her brash outlook (“Tell Donatella, make a coat for me”) Vera Hotsauce has yet again proven herself to be a huge presence on the Swedish pop scene.
Amalgamating pop with hip hop and whispers of R&B, “Hey Boy” is reminiscent of early 00s pop experimentation. Matching the ferocity of Gwen Stefani's rousing tunes and the heat from Fergie's lyrics, Vera Hotsauce is combining the best of both to create her own fierce prowess.
“I wrote ‘Hey Boy’ with the Moving Castle team in LA,” says Vera Hotsauce. “It was such a fun song to work on because we just played around in the studio and had a blast. I really love this song and I hope it makes people want to party because it’s kind of stupid since it’s not actually about anything, but at the same time it’s extremely entertaining! It’s just about being foolish and having a great time.”
