The 1975 – Head.Cars.Bending [Best Fit Premiere]
Manchester quartet The 1975 enjoyed a meteoric rise throughout last year with their brace of stunningly ethereal EP’s, Facedown and Sex, marking them out as potential torch bearers for the RnB x Pop crossover genre going into 2013.
If new track ‘Head.Cars.Bending’ is anything to go by; the band are on the very cusp of delivering on that initial promise with their third EP Music For Cars, out 3 March via Dirty Hit. A sleek intro of distantly resonating percussive breaks and wisps of dreamy synth captures the sensual vibe now synonymous with The 1975 before ripples of guitar and surging bass add extra layers of shimmering monochrome to the melody.
Bathing the gloomier, more reflective elements of The Temper Trap in the blushing sunlit pop of M83, ‘Head.Cars.Bending’ is arguably The 1975’s boldest, most cohesive track to date.
