Temptress make their mark with powerfully seductive debut “Lies”
We all know first impressions are important, and music is no exception. A debut track sets the tone and provides the most important opportunity to create a lasting impression, particularly with the mind-blowing volume of output to which we have become accustomed. Temptress have certainly made an impression.
The south east London duo have unveiled “Lies”, a beautifully seductive first effort that makes a mark and grabs attention with a powerfully confident grip.
Merging hard-hitting, bombastic beats with atmospheric, echoing guitars and hushed, caramel vocal performances, the newcomers generate a murky urban sound that sets them apart in the impressive UK R&B-infused electro-pop sphere.
Explaining that the track relates to "being consumed by a lie, the build-up of tension and dramatic release", it’s the first release by new label Machine Records, founded by management company Machine (Years & Years, AlunaGeorge).
A contagious, impressive and wholly on-trend first impression, stream "Lies" below.
