SOTD #31 (Alessi’s Ark Takeover) // Rachael Dadd: 'Following The Geese'
I spent most of last month in the sweet, warm company of Rachael and listened to her songs, night in and night out. Although each and every one of her songs is beautiful, ‘Following The Geese’ in particular just does something to me – to my core!
During the warmer seasons, Rachael works on a ferry in Bristol harbour and this song is about the geese she sees on a daily basis and gets to know rather well. When this song is playing and my eyes are shut, I can see the geese and hear the water lapping. Only the very best songs can transport you in this way!
Keep an ear and an eye out for Rachael’s new mini album Moth in the Motor out on Broken Sound Records. At the end of our tour, we played at an exhibition to celebrate her album’s release and all the walls in the venue were covered in amazing 10″ covers that listeners and fans had sent in as part of a special project.
