SOTD #2 // Victoria & Jacob 'With No Certainty'
A slight change in direction for Victoria & Jacob with new single “With No Certainty”. Manipulated vocals, textured beats and an altogether more focused musicality ushers out the thrift shop electro-pop of previous single “Clash”. Where Owl City have blatantly ripped off The Postal Service blueprint to within an inch of its life, Victoria & Jacob take a fresh approach at the often tiresome electro-indie cross-over *genre*. Poppier than The Knife, less outwardly weird than Animal Collective – the music of Victoria & Jacob has a real beating heart that pulsates around Victoria’s poetic musings to great effect. Listen to the single over on the duo’s MySpace page and download a brooding remix by Bright Light Bright Light below.
“With No Certainty” is released via Voga Parochia on 5th April.
Victoria & Jacob are support for Bella Union signings Chimes & Bells at The Lexington on 15th February. Check their MySpace for further shows.
