For today’s Song Of The Day, we’re very excited to be offering an exclusive listen of the debut single from the much talked about Big Deal.

‘Talk’ is a story of teenage love, teenage heartbreak, emotional awkwardness and confusion – a narrative which will be oh so familiar to anyone who decided to try out the mortifying sport of ‘courting’ during their formative years. Beautifully simple lyrics, “It’s ok, I’m just a kid/It’s ok, I’ll get over it” are poignant and heartfelt, sung by a brilliantly matched boy/girl vocal and accompanied by a sole, melancholy electric guitar. No drums, no overly polished production, just the lyrics, the tune and two longing souls carefully and tenderly singing their way through lines such as ”All I wanna do is talk/ But seeing you fucks me up”. It’s an impressive first single from the duo, and a tantalising taste of what we can expect from them in the not too distant future.

‘Talk’ will be released as a download and a limited edition 12” along with b-side ‘Locked Up’ on the 4th April via Moshi Moshi.
