There are a lot of European cities in this chap’s story. He’s a London-based producer, originally from Genoa, releasing music as Antwerp. How thoroughly cosmopolitan.
Antwerp’s output is unashamedly fun. It’s fizzy, rousing stuff that sounds rather like a summer party aboard a narrowboat, or the soundtrack to the happy-but-compromised final sequence of a Wes Anderson film. It’s the sort of pastoral pop-house that one imagines will be filling festival tents about this time next year.
‘June’ is taken from Antwerp’s self-titled debut EP, out on Make Mine later this month. You can stream the track below, and pre-order the EP here.
