Pilar Victoria turns another sleepless night into an exploration of her imagination on "Space Song"
Pilar Victoria paints a picture of beautiful night sky on the first single to be taken from her forthcoming debut EP.
Singer/songwriter Pilar Victoria makes her music at home in Houston, Texas. Having started writing her own songs at 12, she's been at it for two years now and her latest single "Space Song" is her most accomplished offering to date. Self-taught on the piano, guitar, ukulele and skateboard Victoria has used music as a means to cope with her ADD helping her both concentrate and express her feelings.
"Space Song" begins as an autobiographical account of another night that Victoria just cannot get to sleep. Flitting between sounds and imagery fellow insomniacs will recognise, Victoria can "hear birds chirping already", before she makes her ascent into the vast universe of her imagination, flying through the starry night.
Victoria is like many other fourteen year olds sharing their creative talents online, however her skill for crafting songs hasn't gone unnoticed. Her storytelling songwriting has seen her track "Wilted Flower" take on a life on its on through a Tik Tok sound and found her already growing fanbase desperate for more.
On demo recordings, like "Seaside Romantics", you can hear Victoria's mind at work, unpolished and unfiltered. Recorded under her duvet on a night much-like the one on which "Space Song" was born, this demo in particular shows the promise and scope of what's to come on her first collection of work.
