“Saint” is a deeply emotive track from newcomers PEAKES
Leeds three piece PEAKES channel Portishead and London Grammar on their euphoric single “Saint”.
PEAKES and especially their enigmatic front woman Molly Puckering, have all the makings of pop monoliths in waiting. New cut “Saint” is a perfect demonstration of their already commanding sound that mixes dynamic instrumentation with reserved but poignant vocalisation, creating what can only be described as well-honed pop music.

Puckering is the star of the show and one can instantly hear her uncanny similarity to London Grammar’s Hanna Reid. The dynamic range and heart-breaking lyricisms build softly throughout the track, ending on a searching refrain “What’s done is done/Didn’t you tell me that once?” This is a band to be watching and noted.
