Mysterious newcomers North Downs dwell in the dark with impressive debut "Nothin'"
"The song was initially written about a long time spent in rehab, away from friends or family, desperately trying to escape addiction", explain North Downs.
There's not much known about North Downs, but they present a bold group fusing intricate, plucky guitars and eerie electronica to make a powerfully fierce debut.
"Nothin'" introduces North Downs' cut-throat confidence, yielding their individual passions to create a magnificent merging of genres.
"We wanted to capture the darkness and reeling of that situation but also the elation and feeling of making it out of the other end", North Downs say. The faultless fusion of dark, compelling guitar tones and atmospheric electronica is certainly a bold move, be it a move that North Downs pull off.
It's a tense journy, presenting North Downs as a mysterious mirage that is hypnotising, no matter how tense "Nothin'" is.
Sweeping relentlessly between infectious riffs and a brazen beat, "Nothin'" presents North Downs as a group here to make an impact.
