Listen: Nathan Ball - “Echo” [Premiere]
Alternative folk musician Nathan Ball follows up a string of UK summer festival performances with debut single “Echo,” premiering today at Best Fit. The track serves as the London/Cornwall-based artist’s first single from his forthcoming Echo EP.
Opening with hushed piano chords before gradually swelling into a band arrangement, "Echo" feels like a late summer rainstorm bursting into full-blown thunder. The increasingly urgent and intertwined vocals, haunting vocal repetition, and thick swatches of guitar distortion place this track solidly alongside Daughter in the realm of darkly graceful alt-folk.
The Echo EP is slated for release on 24 November, with an EP preview performance to be hosted at London’s The Social that evening. Future announcements will follow on Ball’s official website and Facebook page. Stream the single via Soundcloud.
