Mavi Phoenix packs a punch on the dreamy "Janet Jackson"
Just when you think you’ve sussed Viennese singer/rapper/producer, Mavi Phoenix, she switches things up in incomparable fashion. Her new single, "Janet Jackson", is the best example of that eccentricity so far.
First thing, this isn’t a typical lovey R&B song you’d see from the track's namesake. Far from it. Here, on "Janet Jackson", Mavi instead delivers punchy, autotune-laden bars about the extents of her success.

The dreamy loop accompanying her unique timbre is launched skywards in the chorus, her versatile vocals on display, switching from robotic rap to pure euphoria seamlessly. It’s a well-crafted entrance from the 22-year-old Austrian that you’ll do seriously well not to hum for the rest of the day. Good luck.
