I hate Matthew Dear. He’s swoonsomly handsome. He’s talented. He’s really, horribly cool. Why can’t he f-k off?

‘Crimewaves’ is the b-side from that bastard’s new single ‘Her Fantasy’. It’s a sparkling, hormone-drenched track that pits slinky percussion and horn-esque synths against Dear’s deep, croony voice. It comes in somewhere between David Byrne and Jamie Lidell; like the soundtrack to a 2012 reopening of Club 57.

‘Her Fantasy’ is taken from Matthew Dear’s forthcoming sixth album Beams, out 28 August on Ghostly. Listen to ‘Crimewaves’ below.
