Listen: LittleShoesBigVoice - "Blue Veins"
Having quietly impressed with their first release “Nightfall”, which picked up notable plaudits from the likes of BBC Introducing and Huw Stephens, LittleShoesBigVoice have this week unveiled a second cut that’s sure to catalyse the early interest surrounding them.
The London duo - songwriter, producer and vocalist Jack Durtnall and vocalist Emily Harvey - began working together earlier in the year and, alongside old friend Fred Prest, began to hone the sound of LSBV.
This new track showcases exactly what they are capable of. Harvey’s cooling, whispered vocal is given space and laden with a cathedral echo to welcome us in before Durtnall’s tidy, harp-infused production adds colour to the seductive, quietly chilling lyrical subtext.
It’s a piece of work that helps to manoeuvre them alongside the darker elements of Kiwi newcomers BROODS and the brilliant GEMS in the growing pantheon of impressive electro-pop boy-girl duos.
