Something special arrives today in the form of a new label, forged by the creator of one of the UK’s finest new music blogs Gold Flake Paint.
The Edinburgh based website launches Gold Flake Tapes today with the first track lifted from a fifteen-track compilation album - the endearingly named Nothing If Not Loved. The release aims to highlight a wide array of unsigned / unreleased music and is available to download for free via Bandcamp now or to purchase as a strictly limited edition cassette release.
Gold Flake Paint comment on the compilation: “Nothing If Not Loved is our first release and we’re extremely proud of it. From the heart-thumping beauty of Brooklyn’s Small Wonder and Washington’s Oh, Rose to the majestic pace behind Madrid’s Deers and Norwich’s Teen Brains, the compilation bridges genres and continents to present a vibrant and compelling snapshot of a medium so many people seem to think is falling apart at the seams.”
Being released exclusively on the compilation is ‘Pheromones’, a brand new track from the newly-formed Tamu Massif; a group split between different parts of England. Listen below.
