Listen: Mausi – Somewhere (Live in Session) [Premiere]
Displaying a softer, more introspective side to their outwardly feel good pop exterior, Newcastle’s Mausi recently recorded a session for BBC Radio 1′s Huw Stephens at London’s prestigious Maida Vale studios in which they premiered a brand new song, ‘Somewhere’.
A blissed out ballad that’s drenched in nostalgic longing, cascading chords reminiscent of Sweden’s Lake Heartbeat and Boat Club offer a breezy Balearic production sheen – the perfect soundtrack to the fading days of summer.
The group’s official debut single ‘Move’ is set to get re-released via Relentless / Sony on August 25. Without a doubt one of the most assured pop songs of the year, you can pre-order the track from iTunes now.
Mausi play a headline show at London’s Hoxton Plaza on September 3. Tickets are on sale now priced at just £5.
