Listen: London Grammar – Wasting My Young Years
With typical atmosphere and poignancy London Grammar continue to prove why they are one of the most accomplished young bands this country has to offer.
The Capital-city three piece have unveiled another stunning track to follow on from where ‘Hey Now’ and ‘Metal & Dust’ left off. Released June 16th, ‘Wasting My Young Years’ once again focuses largely on the striking vocal, which demonstrates almost operatic power and sores above the ambient accompaniment.
Florence and the Machine comparisons may be existent, but there is something so much more soothing about the sound they have found such comfort it, while the sentimental theme mirrors the emotion of the track. Underlying melancholy is becoming their trademark and this, their most touching offering to date, allied with a scarily complete live show, signals real intent.
