Swedish-Grenadian (by way of NYC) singer-songwriter Kissey blends the gruelling environs of '80s darkwave with confrontational shade-pop on new cut "Melting Pot". Fans of The Knife, No Bra or Krista Papista should take note.
The track actually featured on the soundtrack for Sundance Prize-winning film Dear White People, and sees tension, fluid opiate-addled vox and the faint glimmer of party all blur together. It's a complex listen aimed at challenging your thought processes, but it's not an unlovable beast, and the swirling typhoons of rich-timbred vocals will likely have you begging for more.
It will be released 8 December on Kiss Kiss Records accompanied by a remix from Denitia.
