Listen: Cyril Hahn & Javeon – “Breaking”
Cyril Hahn has mostly been known for his pretty stellar remix work on tracks such as Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” or HAIM’s “Don’t Save Me” but, since signing to PMR, he’s been carving his own path as well as showing that the label really is the one to watch. To celebrate the announcement of PMR’s first compilation, the brilliantly titled From 20 Square Feet in Acton, Hahn has teamed up with fellow labelmate Javeon to create, “Breaking”.
The track is a pretty good example of the style that has launched PMR into becoming an exciting label, championing the likes of Jessie Ware and Disclosure. It’s silky smooth with a real 80s glossy sheen to it.
Hahn’s pumping bass and MIDI synth hook, alongside some gorgeously 80s guitar and synth-sax (a bit of saxophone never hurt anyone), lead the way to the dancefloor while Javeon’s soulful, smooth vocals add a bit of R&B flavour to track that will, like most other Cyril Hahn projects, dominate clubs everywhere. It’s our Song Of The Day.
