Listen: AOSOON - "Same Difference" [Premiere]
AOSOON - "AlotOfSomethingOutOfNothing" - the musical alias of musicians Marisa Hylton and Manny Folorunso live up to their name on new track "Same Difference", taken from upcoming EP Capo 3.
The track begins life a José González-type acoustic pop slowburner, with vox like Chlöe Howl and a low rumble of ambient synth. As a thudding kick beat cascades in and the melodies get more tangled, harmonies knotted and layers more layered, "Same Difference" morphs into a gigantic synth-pop ode. The climactic structure preys on your senses to the final bar, leaving you obliterated mentally and physically.
You can watch a video here of the duo announcing and explaining the creation of upcoming EP Capo 3.
