Stockholm based artist collective INGRID continue their ascent as one of the most intriguing creative forces to emerge in some time. Fresh from announcing the release of the new David Lynch LP The Big Dream, the label reveal ‘Went To War’ – a perversely addictive taster from new ‘supergroup’ Amason.
Made up of Gustav Ejstes (Dungen), Amanda Hollingby Matsson (Idiot Wind), Nils Törnqvist, Petter Winnberg (Little Majorette) and Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow), ‘Went To War’ taps into the classic prog sensibilities that we’ve come to expect from INGRID.
A motorik groove captivates from the opening few bars, with subtle layers enveloping into a breezy lullaby – all augmented by two totally arresting vocal performances. Holding up on countless repeated plays, ‘Went To War’ is an absolute delight.
