Listen: Afterparty - "Crystal Clear" [Premiere]
Afterparty, real name Andreas Szego, first tread the grounds of Best Fit earlier this Summer, with a track aptly named “Retro”. The synthesizer and keyboard enthusiast from Stockholm has since worked feverishly on new material and is on the hunt for a record label to home his digital desires.
In the mean time, he is sharing with Best Fit one of his latest creations, which premieres here on the website. The track is called “Crystal Clear” an ode to unparalleled - and possibly unrequited - infatuation that stretches over five minutes of chugging rhythms and dense electronic production.
The track is, as to be expected, a dramatic, swelling composition that climaxes with esoteric vocalizations and a slightly despairing tone. The exuberance brought on by infatuation is quickly overshadowed by the melancholia of disappointment, which seems to be a condition all too common in Szego’s life that says" in all happy moments there is a soft feeling of sadness present".
It might not be exactly the track that will put you in the holiday spirit, but be sure to check it out if you enjoy loosing yourself into the Nordic Tundra of electronica excellence made in Sweden.
