“Sweetest Life” is the latest groove-laden R&B jam from KWAYE
KWAYE blends Plainfield funk and nu-soul on “Sweetest Life”, his third release this year.
After playing one of his tracks during a taxi ride in the US, the driver introduced KWAYE to an acquaintance that just so happened to be the founder of Mind of a Genius - who signed him weeks later. Since then KWAYE’s ascendance has been stratospheric, garnering nods from the top players in the game and releasing three sterling tracks to universal acclaim.

KWAYE is a student of globalism, which is demonstrated in his amalgamation of influences ranging from Afro-pop to D’Angelo. A cosmopolitan through and through KWAYE seems to hop from country to country picking up tips and tricks along the way which he then reproduces in his own music. It is refreshing in times such as these that artistry more than ever is taking greater risks and wider inspiration. KWAYE is a perfect demonstration of what it means to be a global utopian pop star and a much-needed one at that.
