Colourful label boss Kenneth Bager delivers a seamless pop triumph with "Sunshine Stereo"
Record label exec Kenneth Bager is running the show at Denmark’s Dreams label and owning the show with the Kenneth Bager Experience featuring Damon C. Scott.
An 'experience’ in the context of popular music brings to mind both Mitch Mitchell and the umbrella term used by a whole host of impersonators and karaoke kings.
Needless to say the aforementioned Kenneth Bager Experience initially was quite a disturbing idea, namely because I couldn't quite kick the image of Kenneth Branagh serving bagels in a little cart in New York. Unfortunate letter arrangement aside, Kenneth Bager with the help of Storm Queen’s Damon C.Scott have crafted a low key euro funk-pop track which is refreshing, clean cut and unoffensive much like Scandinavian architecture.
A champion of Balearic and art pop genres, Bager has enlisted a host of fantastic artists to add to his work from Tucinelli to Jazz Box all of which help add to this distinct brand of down tempo dub loveliness.
The digital and vinyl release of Sunshine Stereo EP is out this Friday, 22 April.
