Ital‘s ‘Culture Clubs’ was one of the best tracks of last year. The insistent, woodpecker percussion grabbed the ear from the opening bar – but it was the lush, pitch-bent synths that held the attention.
‘Floridian Void’ takes those odd, final frontier-esque sounds and uses them to build what sounds like a 10-minute meander round some newly-discovered galaxy. It sounds rather like how people in the ’50s imagined 2012 would be. Flying cars and sparkling powder for food.
‘Floridian Void’ is taken from Ital’s forthcoming debut LP Hive Mind, due out later this year on Planet Mu.
