Listen: I Break Horses – Denial
As a pre-cursor to the forthcoming new record, due out this Autumn via Bella Union, Stockholm’s I Break Horses return today with ‘Denial’ – a new track that hints at a refreshing and revitalising new direction for the highly acclaimed duo.
It’s been almost two years since the release of I Break Horses’ debut album Hearts, which ranked at Number 1 in our Best Fit Fifty 2011 list. A bold and revitalised leap into a world made of of analogue synthesisers and multi-layered electronic drum patterns, ‘Denial’ is an exercise in a band breaking free of ‘second album pressures’ and doing what comes naturally. The naval gazing wall of reverb drenched guitars gone in favour of a tighter, highly strung sound.
A full interview with the band will follow soon here at Best Fit, along with some more new music. For now, enjoy the first taster of what is destined to be one of the most essential records of the year. A welome return.
‘Denial’ is set to be released exclusively on limited edition vinyl for the forthcoming Independent Label Market on July 13. The 12″ comes backed with a remix from fellow Bella Union label mates RxGibbs.
