Watch: Huw Costin – Disconnected (Best Fit Exclusive)
Huw Costin’s time as the frontman in Nottingham desert-rock four piece Earth the Californian Love Dream is almost imperceptible among the swirling intelligent-pop soundscapes of his solo work.
You may recall ‘Something/Nothing’, which our friends at The Quietus premiered last month, a track that was sonic-Escher: a looping-back-on-itself vocal and rumbling instrumentation that engendered the serene in a quite spectacular way.
Next up to tease Costin’s second long-player Something/Nothing (which drops on 10 June via SpecialSoundUnit) - is a new track ‘Disconnected’. More traditional in structure and possessing a folkier slant, the track finds its USP at around the one minute mark when there’s a glorious build-up/breakdown reminiscent of latter-day Radiohead.
