Gorillaz x Andre 3000 x James Murphy – Do Ya Thing // Song Of The Day #405

When we posted a clip of this a few days ago, we said it sounded exactly like you would expect a collaboration between Gorillaz, Andre 3000, and James Murphy to turn out.

And we stand by that assertion – except mercifully, the full track is significantly more exciting than the clip suggested. Damon Albarn’s verse underlines the fact that his time is much better spent with his animated friends than it is with Coxon et al – but it is Andre 3000’s contribution that really makes this worthwhile, his frantic, Gatling gun delivery causing pangs of nostalgia for Outkast’s glory days.
