Glows explores bustling isolation on expansive new cut "Foam"
London-based producer GG Skips, aka Glows, returns with an eclectic new track "Foam".
Built on a distant hum of synths, "Foam" is a warped and submerged world channelling the overlapping voices of the city.
The crisp, ticking beat adds a sense of urgency that contrasts with the soothing, yet almost vacant synths, to encapsulate the rush of people and traffic in a 'King Krule meets Jimothy Lacoste' kind of manner.
Glows' submerged vocals are calming in a sense. Slightly distanced and warped, GG Skips manages to personify the passing people of the city while being present in observing his environment.
Speaking about the track, Glows explains "Foam" is about "a particularly bizarre month in summer where I'd take entire bus routes across London and listen to Scott Walker's Tilt on repeat for hours. There's this one song called "Farmer in the City" that resonated particularly with me, it matched the isolation I was feeling at the time."
