French synth pop artist Flavien Berger shares surreal and strange video for new single “Castelmaure”
Dive into Flavien Berger's journey of two lovers uniting on new visuals for "Castelmaure".
Two lovers clash and come together in a world of surreal imagery and slow-motion abstraction in the video for “Castelmaure”, the latest single from synthpop artist Flavien Berger.
The track itself has an endearing retro feel, with rolling bass and vocodor-treated backing vocals.
Berger has supported Christine and the Queens on tour, and both artists share a particularly European aloofness.
“Castelmaure” comes from Berger’s second album Contre-Temps: a high-concept blend of irresistible melodies, minimal synths and oddball personality. “I devise my records like adventure stories,” says Berger of the release. “Here we have a reverse quest, a knight's voyage at the wheel of a car, driving while listening to psychedelic RnB on the radio.”
