Buoyant and simple, Few Bits’ ‘’Anyone Else’’ is the perfect release ahead of their new album
Glistening Belgian act Few Bits follow the excellent ‘’Summer Sun’’ with their similarly stunning new single, ‘’Anyone Else’’.
Packed with the sort of half-hearted self-assurances more typically associated with a Best Coast tune, ‘’Anyone Else’’ is a breezy affair from start to finish. The lyrics are intentionally delivered in a manner that seems almost aloof, and the instrumentation is also notably airy. Even the title smacks of a lack of commitment.
What ‘’Anyone Else’’ is, however, is wonderfully buoyant and meticulous. Vocalist Karolien Van Ransbeeck’s repeated ‘’I feel good when I’m by myself/I don’t think I need anyone else’’ is bookended by the weightier chorus, giving substance to the notions of self-doubt many encounter on a day to day basis. Dressed in a gleaming instrumental arrangement, ''Anyone Else'' balances nonchalance with uncertainty rather gorgeously, and the result is a real treat.
Few Bits prove themselves once again that they are more than adept at delivering something beautifully simple and evocative ahead of the release of their second album.
