Evvol toy with fate on "Starcrossed", a new taste from upcoming debut Eternalism [Premiere]
Irish-Australian duo Evvol are debuting new cut "Starcrossed" on Best Fit ahead of debut album Eternalism next month.
Evvol summon woozy synths and echoing snares to back their dislocated vocals. Blurring through late-night R&B, dream-pop and '80s rock (complete with blazing axe solo), they sing a tale of unrequited love via duelling harmonies. Fans of Warpaint's narcotic hooks and 2:54's heavy textures will surely be charmed by the noises Evvol are making.
The band said of the song's meaning: ""Starcrossed" is a song about the concept of pre-destined love, from dreams as children to the fantasies of older age, it's the idea that our soulmate is out there for us whether we ever meet them in this life time or not."
The Berlin based twosome will play a showcase of new material at London's The Waiting Room tomorrow (17 June).
Eternalism is released 24 July on !K7/Mad Dog & Love.
