Emma McGrath discovers her “Other Side” on her affirmative new single
Hailing from North London, 19 year old singer-songwriter Emma McGrath returns with buoyantly euphoric new single “Other Side”.
Penning her own music since 2013, singer-songwriter Emma McGrath is no stranger to a bit of hard graft. With two EPs already under her belt - namely The Judgement and Silent Minds - the young artist is diligently focused on her musical vision, but has found a new level of maturity and confidence in her latest effort “Other Side”.
Touching upon moments of vulnerability in her lyrics, “Other Side” sees McGrath power on through her own hesitance and insecurity to succinctly capture the tentative inertia of developing (and ultimately confessing) feelings for another. Underpinned by boldly pounding drum beats, the track palpably grows in confidence along with the artist’s signature gravelly vocal, mirroring the tale of burgeoning romance with a liberating and euphoric chorus. Falling in love has certainly left a lasting mark on McGrath.
“The song is about being in a relationship but needing reassurance, not wanting to give your all until you're sure,” shares McGrath of her new single, which emerges hand-in-hand with a charming display of blossoming romance. “I managed to get my girlfriend to be in the video with me and we filmed over in her home town in Massachusetts. The song was written before we met but I think it's quite fitting given that we've lived a few thousand miles apart for the last year! It also looks like we filmed during nice weather but it was actually FREEZING... Note to self - don't film music videos in November.”
