Elderbrook reveals nuanced electro-pop ode "Good Enough" [Premiere]
Elderbrook - the nom de plume of 21-year-old London producer Alexander Kotz - is sharing his latest single "Good Enough" on Best Fit.
The track features on Kotz's upcoming second EP Travel Slow, which follows last year's Could short-player.
"Good Enough" is a sombre track that recalls The xx's masterful use of space and silence, with Kotz lurching away from his nu-garage tones of before to sculpt a song with considerable gravitas. It's breezy and reverent, floating through the ether with gentle bass wobs and softly delivered vox, only occasionally punctuated by ripples of celestial guitar. There's lightly funky rhythms and a liberal smattering of fingerclicks to give a pulse, but this is an impressive look at the burgeoning producer's subtler side.
As well as the new single, the EP will include "Travel Slow" and "Be There Soon".
The Travel Slow EP is out via Black Butter on 21 August.
