Now here’s something that’s always, always welcome: a new El-P track. ‘Drones Over BRKLYN’ turned up last week – but now, thanks to El’s generosity, we have the uncensored version.
‘Drones Over BRKLYN’ is El’s first new material in what seems like forever – and it is exactly as good as we could have hoped. The unique, triplet-heavy rhytmic patterns are all there, but this time with ‘Ghost Town’-esque spooke synths, funky, chopped piano, and odd vocal samples.
El-P really does sound like an incredibly unhappy man, and we’re sorry for that. But it does make for fantastic music.
