Israeli newcomer DORJ explores another side of the story on "Move On" [Premiere]
Israeli producer Dor Turgeman, aka DORJ, is sharing “Move On”, the second single from his ambitious forthcoming EP FORGETMOVEONDONTCARE.
Turgeman has described the EP as “a trilogy which explores the same story told from three different perspectives.” On previous single “Don’t Care”, he sounded lovelorn yet optimistic, entranced by something just out of reach. On “Move On”, he just sounds tired—“everywhere I go I find no rest / it’s time to move on”—and the music follows suit.
The staccato snippets of steel drums that introduce the song are fiery, but they quickly give way to a weary beat and synths that would fit right in with the cinematic work of Kavinsky. It’s a splendid backdrop for DORJ’s gliding voice (which seems closer to splintering with each second) and the story of lost love it tells.
