I’m always interested to see how many people of my age, when Death in Vegas come up, mentally jump straight to one-time collaborator Liam Gallagher. I suspect the answer is ‘most’ – which is a shame, because they have always been rather more interesting than this association would suggest.
‘Your Loft’ is the first single from the Trans Love Energies, the band’s first record in almost seven years – and it features the now instantly recognisable voice of Canadian chanteuse du jour Katie Stelmanis, of Austra fame.
The track has a rambling, starship intro before breaking down into something that sounds rather like an arpeggiated, micro house Blondie. Yes, that’s a good thing.
