Daedelus is fantastically generous. The LA producer regularly gives away great new tracks on his Soundcloud account – several of which we’ve posted here in the past.
‘El Subidon’ might not be free – but it is fantastic. It takes Daedelus’ trademark Wizard of Oz, musical film aesthetic and fastens it firmly onto a thudding, melancholy synth melody. Meanwhile layer upon layer of drums pile up in the background – marching drum snare patterns meet samba rhythms, underpinning a track that swells and ebbs repeatedly for four and a half minutes.
‘El Subidon’ is taken from the Fair Weather Friends EP – originally released all the way back in 2007, but well worth revisiting.
