Danish quartet and Tough Love signing Communions reveal new single ahead of London debut
Despite its title, very apropos for the ever shortening days this time of year, Danish quartet Communions’ upcoming latest single “So Long Sun” doesn’t bid our heavenly light bulb adieu so much as revel in its warmth and glow.
Unlike summer’s typically dewy, blistered paeans that reflect the season’s heavy-headed heat, Communions approach “So Long Sun” with a welcome light-footedness. Clean, melodic guitar lines fit hand in hand with light and airy vocals driven at a tempo that takes its time but never meanders. The band keep the atmosphere open and unfettered, allowing the tune ample space to breathe and move about.
If you’re looking for a tune to complement autumn’s golden glow and to keep you nuzzled and warm in this waning year’s increasingly biting nights, look no further.
“So Long Sun” will be available as a limited 7” and download on 10 November courtesy of Tough Love Records. Catch their London live debut at Sebright Arms also on 10 November.
