Charlotte Carpenter stomps through trust issues on blues-rock belter "Wasted"
Charlotte Carpenter has shared "Wasted" from upcoming EP Fault Line, and it's our Song Of The Day.
Fault Line arrives after a string of self-released EPs, and lengthy stints on national tour circuits (including slots with Marika Hackman and George Ezra), and is previewing upcoming release Fault Line with "Wasted". Twanged with Southern Gothic motifs like heavy-swinging axes and soulful vocals, "Wasted" sees Carpenter hurtle through American soils with a vengeance. "I know there is much more for me..." she coos, across thwomping Torres-style rock, "but is there much more for you?" It's a bold, swaggering strut into vivid country muisc, and despite the downbeat lyrics, it'll have rabbles roused and raring to rock out.
The Fault Line EP is available via 13 November via Let It Go Records.
