Bang On!‘s ‘Got It’ should, by rights, have been the biggest track of the year. It has it all: the world-conquering chorus, the fantastic, Beck-esque guitar sample – and, most importantly, the Scouse rapper’s growling, hilarious, scatologically-inflected lyrics.
‘Drink n Drugs’ is darker, grimier; the sound of the mephedrone buzz about which Bang On! raps. The take-home here is the brief “Drink. And drugs” breakdown that could, I suppose, be the more straightforward, Liverpudlian counterpart to ‘Feel Good Hit Of The Summer.’ Either way, it’s just as entertaining.
‘Drink n Drugs’ is taken from Bang On!’s forthcoming debut album, due out next year on Big Dada.
