“I prefer no rules or references when making a video. It just happens on set and none after effects are used. I want it to be all natural”, explains director Jónatan Grétarsson about the accompanying visuals for Ásgeir’s new single “Torrent”.
-In the clip we get a study of the Icelandic singer/songwriter’s striking form alongside the track, taken from his debut long player In The Silence, due for a January 2014 release. The album features lyrics translated by John Grant, whom Grétarsson has also directed in the video for “Vietnam“.
21-year old Ásgeir - currently the biggest thing in his home country – looks to set to take the rest of the world by storm next year. Watch the clip above.
“Torrent” is released on 16 December via One Little Indian.
